More secrets than traffic generation

Thursday, December 23rd, 2004

Sometimes I wonder if John has mis-named his product. Although it’s true a big part of Traffic Secrets shows you how to get that traffic to your website, there are also many many tidbits of information, advise and information in the package that teaches you the finer things about conversion and doing business in general.

I’m just done with Exit Traffic Strategies and there are truly some interesting techniques there. Now… let me tell you something frankly. I’m certain for some of you, you’re wondering what could this guy tell me that I haven’t already learnt myself or from some other guru in the past? I did too. Even John addresses this issue somewhat and as his student I’ll say that’s true. So far not everything I learn here is new in fact much of it is not new but if you asked me if this has been valuable to me – I’d say most definitely and one of the reasons is:

Confirmation, validation whatever you want to call it. You know, sometimes we don’t do some things because our own prejudice, experience or belief takes over and you convince yourself that they don’t work so you don’t do it. But the fact is they DO and in a course like this confirms they do and forces you to change your ways to more profitable ways.

Another reason is, sometimes you’re already doing these things but you’re not doing them right or simply not taking it farther and so your efforts don’t work while it works wonders for others.Had I not bought Traffic Secrets, I would never have realized this. At other times, you have accumulated a hodge podge of knowledge and products but just don’t realize how to use them with each other to maximize your efforts. You’ve only been using it the way you understand how to use it and a course like this helps you look at what you know from a different perspective.

Home Business, Blogs and Gurus

Saturday, December 4th, 2004

In following my upcoming, next in line to be crowned Mom Guru and good friend Alice Seba, I thought I’d start a blog about my journey chasing the gurus. Oh no not another guru groupie. Call me whatever you want but let me tell you, during the whole time of my working and entreprenuerial life, I spent 101% of the time thinking just like you. See if these thoughts sound familiar:
*They can’t teach me anything new. I wasn’t born yesterday
*What makes them so much better than me
*Yeah right $1 million a month – let me scrutinize that image – must be doctored and on and on and on.

You know, there are plenty of so called gurus out there who ARE out to scam, who ARE out to make a fool out of you and line their fat walllets doing so but I’ve also been introduced to a whole new set of masters of their trade who are not only sincere but also approachable and in all appearances seem very much like you and me! Just plain ordinary people (with fat wallets :-) )

Okay okay so I don’t know any of them personally yet but whose to say I won’t at the end of this blog is there is an end? Join me as I learn from their products and hopefully give you an insight to the real person behind these great minds. How am I going to do it? Not sure yet I mean I just set up this blog to test out the brand spanking new MSN Spaces (incidentally, here’s my blog review ) back to the issue at hand. I have one or two ideas brewing now. I’ll also be journalling how well or badly I’ve done applying their tactics. When you come back next who knows what to expect? Stay tuned – subscribe to my RSS feed won’t ya?
