The Reese Report All I Can Say Is…

Saturday, January 29th, 2005

WOWZA! I was reading Willie Crawford’s post about the Reese Report and I agree with him. I really thought I know many people are going to think I’m NUTS to have subscribed at that kind of expense but let me tell you, if you haven’t, YOU are nuts. This is almost like having Traffic Secrets every month! Now 12 months ago if I read something like this I’d go sorry Lynette, you’ve really gone off your rockers. There’s nothing an old dog like me don’t know or I can figure all this out myself, all this hype is making you crazy.

Completely understand where you’re coming from most definitely because I’ve been there and you know I spent four *&$% years there – broke at the bottom of the most bottom of all. Being John & Nitro Incubator’s student, so far here’s one biggie I learnt and boy it sounds sooo simple yet I didn’t do it and so I stayed where I was. That is… apply it! Everything you learn, put it into action. It’s affected me so much that I even use that philosophy on my new kitchen gadgets. Whatever I buy and learn to do I apply it.

You know, this month’s Reese Report mentioned something that I’ve known all along but guess why I’ve not been successful before? Yup. I never bloody used my knowledge and spent 4 stinking years in the mud hole. Never again! Sorry for the language but I’m actually quite worked up and mad. Yes mad at my silly self so there! Whew! Feels good to rant – very therapeutic. You should try it :-)

Focus, Focus, Focus They Say

Friday, January 7th, 2005

Currently I’m following several gurus of business and marketing and there are few things I notice that are common among their teachings the first thing and I think it is one of the most important things is the emphasis on focus although many of these gurus teach about mastering traffic or lead generation and marketing tactics, many of them also in one way or another at one time when other in their series of coaching sessions teach about mindset. And mindset is, believe it or not, from what I gather, half the job. One of the most important mindset that you can’t ever have is to focus. Focus on one project at a time, one job at a time.

Many of them would teach you that by working one thing and at a time, they’re able to create a better product, sales message marketing technique, make the product more profitable or whatever the case may be. I think this is quite logical because by focusing, they can put all the energy and resources into making that product the best that it can ever be. The project doesn’t have to compete with any other projects for money your time or your attention it’s just like raising a kid. Each project is like a kid who is special and they need the help of their very own special attention. The more you nurture them the better they become.

This reminds me of something my friend Carrie posted one time on her blog. She said she’d read somewhere that the more you multitask, the more your productivity suffers and that’s really interesting. The into this world we keep thinking that the more things we do at one time the more efficient and productive we are but according to the research that she read the reality is contrary to what we think.

So what do I do now? I have probably 10, 20 different emails from different marketing masters or gurus if you wanna call them that, sitting in my inbox almost every day. Each one of them calling my attention to profitable products of theirs, each one promises to bring me millions and make this a better year. But the fact is, with each product that I buy, I have to invest more time to digest them and putting them into action. And what really needs to be done to they gets lost.

So one of the first things to do is to delete. Yes it’s hard. All these some gurus write very powerful headlines and enticing letters that it’s difficult to resist. But I think one of the first steps for me and maybe you too in order to start you on your road to success is ignore them for now because no matter what, there would be something better tomorrow or these gurus won’t be the gurus they are. So if I miss something today, I know they’ll have something better bigger for me tomorrow and tomorrow is when I might be more ready and have more money which resulted from focusing today.
