How can it be 3 almost 4 months since I started coaching with Alice? In an entrepreneur’s world, time flies when you’re busy. That should be a good thing.

How has Alices coaching worked out for me? Over the last few months, I’ve been busy restructuring my business. You’ll see some evidence of that when you visit my site’s new home page. And… I’m not anywhere near done.

During this time, I have also begun to see clearly, just how many loose ends I’ve left every where. All those things I told myself I’d come back to do. I shamefully admit were either forgotten, or buried.

The Spring Cleaning coaching has been really helpful. I’m still working on it and will continue to do so. Even taking things a little further by re-examing the order process.

Bright and early today, Alice sent out the first week’s email and our first Internet Marketing Spring Cleaning assignment. I wasn’t as early as some of her students. One of them even turned their assignment in a mere few hours after Alice sent them out! Whoa! I can tell she’s going places. Don’t leave me behind!

This first week’s guide is short but also the most important. I can’t discuss in detail but can definitely tell you it’s all about taking inventory of your business. Argh! I don’t know about you, some people love making lists but me? Uh-uh. I hate lists! Even when I tried making lists, I never failed to lose them.

But, this is not about me. This is about my company. There’s a difference. So, if I want to pass the company on to my kids or build it to a point where it can continue to feed and clothe my family long after I’m gone, I have to do this.

I think this is the biggest misconception about running your own business and “being your own boss”. Being your own boss doesn’t mean you get to have everything you want the way you want and not do the stuff you don’t want to do. Sure, you get all that. But eventually, you’ll still need to do the things you don’t want or like. Sure, you can outsource some things eventually but not everything. Also, before outsourcing someone needs to set the frame work, the big picture – that’s us.

Anyhow, this is going to be interesting. More progress later.

Yay! I can’t wait. This is my second time doing any kind of coaching. The first is with Jimmy D Brown. This time, I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Having worked with Alice for several years now, I have seen her business grow from the inside and try to model her enterprise as much as possible. But now I really need some lead-me-by-the-hand help. I do believe I’ve trimmed a lot of fat from my business although I’m sure Alice would make me trim more

But I’m kinda stuck how to build muscles into the trim meat. It’s kinda like losing weight. If you’ve ever lost a lot of weight, you know that’s half the battle. You don’t get this super sexy body after you lost a huge mass. You’re left with sagging flesh and stretch marks – not very pretty. That’s kinda where I am now.

Maybe this is not you, maybe you need to learn to trim the fat. Whatever it is, I’m certain Alice can help. Here’s something to start you off. Download this quick read 3 page PDF Alice sent to me. It’ll show you how to dust the cob webs off your autoresponders and make them cleaner, leaner and more effective.

Thinking of joining us on this 6 week ride? Then you’re in luck. If you sign up through the link inside the PDF above, I’ll give you access to my “Spring Cleaning Technical Assistance”. Here’s what it includes. The week after the coaching with Alice, I’ll send you a brand new book (or mini course – I haven’t decided yet), never released before. It’ll show you how to spring clean the technical aspects of your business. How to set up your computer systems so whenever you need to reformat, or your computer crashes, you’ll lose almost zero data. I just reformatted my computer and it only cost me a 2-3 hours down time without data loss. You’ll also receive my notes, which I’ll be taking through out Alice’s course. In it, I’ll go into the details of the technical aspects that are brought up.

Why after the coaching? Well, let’s face it. We’ll both be plenty busy for the next 6 weeks. We do want to get the most out of the program right? Doing this after also allows you to collect all the technical questions you might have so we can hit the ground running.

If your business needs a spring cleaning now, don’t sit on the fence too long. Last day to sign up is tomorrow, April 1st and that’s no joke either. Here’s what you need to do if you want to claim my bonus.

1. Sign up through the link in the PDF above.

2. Visit http://www.marketingright.com/helpdesk/ open a ticket and send me your name, email and receipt number.

3. I’ll contact you with additional details and private email address.

Now that my husband is totally with me on building our business, we’ve had times we needed to discuss things and have them mapped out. Of course, there’s paper, lots of paper flying about and – well, often, our strategy maps so to speak gets lost.

So, when John Reese talked about his war room, I’ve been looking out for a similar solution on a much, much smaller budget. There are lot’s of suggestions online from glass to plexiglass and all other stuff. Then finally I stumbled upon something people keep talking about – tile board.

We live in a fairly rural place so I was skeptical we’d be able to find this thing but was I so happy when I found it in my local Lowes! To make it all better, we had this hallway that we wanted to remodel for a while so… we turned the hallway into a war hall

The best part, our kids love it as we knew they would. So it’s like dual purpose. Here’s a picture of my girl drawing on the white board wall.

One of the great things about meeting people in seminars is you never know who you’re going to meet 99% of the time I meet really interesting, exciting people. Today, there is a guy that’s super interesting. But he’s super interesting in a… uhm… not very positive way unfortunately.

As we were talking, he kept attacking people who are attending, the speakers etc. Saying they are “being taught not how to make money but how to be sold” Well maybe that’s true but the point is, he’s not getting the point, and I doubt he’ll ever.

Now don’t get me wrong, he had some really good arguments and I agree with him but the funny part about it is… His business is teaching people to get rid of negativity. Did you catch that?

This guy just about called me a dumb ass and everyone is so stupid to be sold on something, he’s so great and he’s going to teach me about negativity. I’m not a coach, self help expert or super positive person but I got news for this guy. That is, negativity is not only about other people’s thoughts but what you think about other people too.

My message to this guy? Thanks but no thanks

In The Secret movie, author Jack Canfield talks about driving down a road at night. The headlights of our vehicles will only illuminate the road ahead of us by about 200 yards out. We can’t see what’s beyond that but we can still drive from New York to California. That’s because as we move forward, the next 200 yards will be revealed to us and the next 200 and the next 200 until we reach our destination.

Our family travels by road a lot and 90% of the time, we travel at night or early morning. So, this analogy totally got through to my head. The whole idea behind that is, we don’t have to see the whole road to know where we’re going. The important thing is the destination. How we get there is irrelevant.

The road to success if often like driving down this dark road. Unfortunately, sometimes we’re scared because we can only see the next 20 steps but not beyond, so we stop. But, if we only keep moving forward, the next steps will come into light. We only need to keep doing those next 20 steps and before we know it we would’ve complete the 1 millionth.

So, if you’re unsure, don’t stop just keep going.

Last month, I listened to a special audio Jimmy D. Brown put out in List and Traffic. Immediately after, I changed a report I was writing and put into action what he advised.

I just released it a week ago and boy, more people are asking me for it than any of my other reports. This might not mean that much right now but this baby will be out there forever generating me free traffic.

This is not the first time List and Traffic helped me. If you’re heard of it and haven’t signed up, you’re missing way too much and for only $10 a month it’s really a no brainer. The thing I like about Jimmy’s stuff is it’s easy to do and put into action.

Anyway, Jimmy is changing the membership area (again) and he’ll be removing all the archived downloads which he actually sells in other places. If you are a member, get in and download them now if not, be a member before February 1st, 2007.

Ah, the new year. Always the time when entrepreneurs review where they’ve been and where they want to go. And you know, that’s great! Every business needs to review their goals frequently. Last week, I received a friendly email from a blog reader, asking my opinion about Jimmy D. Brown’s 6 Figure Income coaching program which I took around the middle of 2006.

He’s not the first to ask. I jumped on last year after a glowing recommendation from Alice Seba. Yes, it’s partly because of her recommendation but mostly because I felt I don’t need another Internet Marketing course and what I needed most is a plan to effectively put to use what I learned and continue to learn in the future.

People say – put what you learn into action. It sounds so easy. But if you’ve been in Internet Marketing for any amount of time you’ll know it can sometimes get crazy. Everything is important. Building a list is important. Creating your own info product is important. SEO is important. Adding content is importing. Writing articles is important. Adsense is important and the list seems never to end. Every time you turn around it’s like everything has to be done today or we’ll be ‘losing out big time’. So what do
you do first? What do you concentrate on first, next and so on?

Jimmy’s coaching helped me understand and truly prioritize. Honestly, prioritize doesn’t adequately explain the system. It’s simple yet so profound. I am of course bound by the rules when I signed up and can’t say too much about the program.

Since I applied just one part of his system which is a planner. I’ve been consistently churning out my own original content. I now have so many articles to publish my assistant works hard to keep up with the submissions and I’m not stopping. I’ve also been getting those reports out to affiliates more regularly than I ever had and now when I sit down to review my week, every work hour is truly maximized. It didn’t occur to me how much the system has affected my work day until last month.

For some reason – don’t ask – I quit using Jimmy’s system and I tried something new. My productivity fell through the floor and I worked much much harder. It’s only one week now I’m back into Jimmy’s system and guess what? I achieved more this week than all of December. And, what’s more interesting, every day, I had more extra hours free.

One thing I must say though, when Jimmy says work three hours a day, he’s not kidding. I’m a work-a-holic and try to pack in more hours than that. But when you do that, the system will ‘fail’ on you. After December, that point came clearly to me too. I feel there is a reason to limit the number of hours we work. Not because we’re lazy or unmotivated but without rest, your mind cannot be at it’s peak performance for tomorrow and it just spoils everything for the week. Hard lesson for a work-a-holic and I’m not
completely cured. But I struggle to keep my hours down and reasonable so I will always have a sharp mind tomorrow.

The bottom line, has it been worth it? Yes! Yes! Yes!

I’ve been keeping it low key this time around. Last week, I attended my second Big Seminar. This time, I dragged hubby along. He was excited about the idea because he had been ‘networking’ at the bar during the last one and was interested in what everyone does. Well, I expected this would breathe some life into this half hearted projects but never expected this. My hubby has completely flipped!

He’s on fire. Everyday he comes home and tells me he’s been thinking about nothing but what to do in our business all day. During our drive back home, he even had a dream about ideas, plans, JV’s and all that. I say… now you know why I can’t sleep. He says it’s like someone turned a switch on in my head. During the week, we had to travel out of town again and he so surprised me when he asked me to fill up the mp3 player so he can listen to something. That bowled me over. I am happy, excited,
anxious and a little afraid too because we made some pretty serious commitments during the seminar.

He used to be “I’ll work on this part time and continue working outside of home so he can have a retirement check” but now he’s “Let’s make a goal to replace my income in xx time.” I’m so proud of him. He even started blogging – you can read about his experience in his own words.
